DESCRIPTION:\nSummary: An introductory workshop to help you get started wi
 th version control using Git and UKAEA’s GitLab service. Version control
  is the lab notebook of the digital world: it’s what professionals use t
 o keep track of what they’ve done and to collaborate with other people. 
 Every large software development project relies on it\, and most programme
 rs use it for their small jobs as well.\n\nObjectives:\n\nLearn the core c
 ommands for the command line utility\, Git\nTrack the changes of files and
  explore their history with Git using a repository\nLearn what to do when 
 there are conflicting changes to files when collaborating\nFind out where 
 to host repositories and how to interact with the remote servers\n\n\n\nAu
 dience: Anyone in a science\, engineering or technical role with little or
  no prior experience of using Git\, GitLab\, or version control systems. T
 his is a course for beginners and novices. People who have used other vers
 ion control systems may also find it useful\, but please look at the lesso
 n content in the link below to judge for yourself.\n\n\nPrerequisites: Som
 e previous experience with the Unix shell\, while not strictly mandatory\,
  is extremely helpful when taking this course. Please consider signing up
