Event Information:
Join us at the latest Discover Session where you’ll have the opportunity to tour the RACE workhall, gaining valuable insight into the innovative robotics projects currently undertaken.
This lunchtime session will be running twice on Wednesday 25th June, please see the available time slots below:
- 12:10 - 13:10
- 13:10 - 14:10

In the workhall you will see firsthand and learn about the following robotics projects:
- STORM lifting trials – STEP is built around the ability to perform vertical maintenance, taking large objects out through its roof. RACE is working to figure out how these lifts can be made possible.
- TELBOT manipulator – a high-tech two-armed haptic manipulator worth over £1 million.
- AIM-TU – RACE’s automation station, where we test and demonstrate satellite repair, upside-down 3D printing and automated methods take apart JET tiles.
- Test Rig Nought – testing novel methods to move large flexible payloads around, the most challenging task in the DEMO maintenance playbook.
- PipeINEER – the tiniest robot in our workhall, PipeINEER is a bespoke design commissioned by CERN to inspect the beam line pipe of the Large Hadron Collider.
Registration is required and this event is for an internal audience only.
