Inspiration in the classroom plays a key role in encouraging young people to see a career in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths as being exciting, engaging, and with good prospects. This is why the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA), one of the world’s leading research institutions in fusion energy, has launched a 4 day Fusion Teacher Conference for state school Physics teachers at KS3, KS4 and A-Level.

This conference, which will be held at Voco Oxford Thames hotel, Oxfordshire, from 22nd to 25th July 2025, is part of an enhanced investment into schools outreach facilitiated by UKAEA’s Fusion Opportunities in Skills, Training, Education and Research (FOSTER) programme.

Topics for discussion will include an introduction to fusion energy; an introduction to STEP; and an overview of the current global landscape for fusion energy research. In addition there will be multiple careers panel discussion featuring representatives from UKAEA, industry partners and universitys, together with insight and workshops from event partner, Ogden Trust.

This is a fully funded event, including transport, accomodation and meals.
