Women have been at the forefront of computing since the beginning. But where are all the women inventors? Only 13% of inventors worldwide are women and the numbers are worse in ICT (Information and Communications Technology). This poster explores why women are underrepresented as inventors in software and AI, and how intellectual property (IP) can be a powerful tool for recognition and career growth.It also offers accessible tips for identifying patentable ideas, making IP feel less like legal jargon and more like a career asset. Whether writing code, leading projects, or designing systems, women in computing deserve to be recognized as inventors. Let’s change the narrative.
