Description
Hermes-3 is a multifluid plasma simulation code, built on BOUT++. It is used for simulating transport and turbulence at the edge of magneticically-confined plasmas. It uses a system of modular components which make it highly flexible. I have provide research software engineering skills to support the ongoing development and optimisation of Hermes-3 and BOUT++. I will be presenting the work I have done on this over the past year, such as developing a new normalisation scheme for the BOUT++ SNES solver. In particular, I will demonstrate how good software architecture can aid with writing performant code.
